DOES IT FLOATThe band seemed a bit tired, but still played a great set, maybe not as dynamic as the London shows, but they have been playing for 6 days in a row now, so that somehow showed, but I am still impressed and they seemed really into it. Lou even played back some pre-recorded samples between songs (just some strange organ bit via sampling pedal) like in the early days. The way Lou worked his bass during the solo in NO BONES was really amazing, he nearly seemed to destroy it. They did a perfect rendition of LITTLE FURY THINGS. Murph missed the intro to REPULSION and joined J & Lou a bit too late. TARPIT was just wonderful. They played SLUDGEFEAST right after KRACKED, just like on the record, complete with the short feedback bit, and J even had the feedback in the right note !!! Awesome. They did 3 encores, finishing off with CHUNKS !!! That really surprised me since I didn’t think they’d do it. Wow ! The actual show was supposed to end there (at least from what is written on the official setlist) but they came back to do DOES IT FLOAT. At the end they looped all of the noise over the PA system, with J’s flanger making the place take off… made my head spin. Awesome !

jonParticipantwow! kracked then sludge… a "reworked quest" at an earlier show! to do these types of things takes COMMUNICATION. maybe our boys have… uh … rediscovered each other a bit. totally awesome.

trensidohParticipantYeah, I’ve been thinking about that a lot, too – seems they finally found a way to communicate, on a personal level. Musically, well, yes, to some degree, but when Lou & J start playing Repulsion although Murph isn’t ready yet and so he misses the song’s beginning, that IS a lack of communication, I guess…

intodeepParticipantThank you for the setlist. It makes me even more excited to see them in about three weeks here in Atlanta

King TubbyParticipantAm I alone in hoping they’ll start playing "Let It Ride" and "They Always Come" by the time they start their US dates?
I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the Noho show. In ’97 Dino played "Loaded" at Pearl Street, the only time they played it out of the three shows I saw on that tour.
Still, whatever they play is going to kick it.
Sure wish I saw them in Amsterdam. Spectacular city.

I’d love to hear ‘They Always Come’ and ‘Let it Ride’ along with ‘Pond Song’. I totally think those songs are over-looked. Some of my favorites from the early years but they never seemed to get played. I’d also like to hear ‘Yeah We Know’.
I love "Loaded" it’s one of my favorite songs from the later years. You’re lucky to have seen it live.

an additional encore!? lucky guys in Amsterdam!

….. a special thank you goes out to Lufthansa Maintenance for the excellent earplugs, they are able to withstand the sound of a jet-engine running at close range, and they did a wonderful job at this gig……
All in all, great to see the band back in action, and in great form, and looking like they are enjoying every minute of it
