SGParticipantI`m glad someone mentioned Slint;they were awesome!"spiderland" will be later on my list.
I have a story I heard on the radio about Mogwai`s love of Slint.Mogwai was playing a show with Aerial M,Dave Pajo`s band;Pajo spilled some beer on one of Mogwai guys guitars and one of them said"that`s ok,you were in Slint, you can do whatever you want!"June 26, 2001 at 11:23 am #66431
SGParticipantHere`s my 16-20:
Guided By Voices-Alien Lanes
Cocteau Twins-Heaven or Los Vegas
Palace Brothers-Palace Brothers(Days in the wake)
Nick Drake-Pink Moon
Mazzy Star-She Hangs Brightly
Here`s my fav classic rock albums-top 5:
Neil Young-Rust Never Sleeps
Rolling Stones-Exile on Main Street
Beatles-White Album
Jimi Hendrix-Nine to the universe(If you`re all going "wha" this is a pretty amazing album, mostly instrumental,so you get to hear Hendrix`s guitar playing on top; There`s one track with jazz organist Larry Young, the only singing is Jimi singing one verse-"I am what I am thank God,some people don`t understand help them God"Amen to that)
The Who-Live at Leeds(I heard Mike Watt talking about this in an interview,it`s one of his favs.)
My fav jazz/blues albums are coming soon.June 26, 2001 at 12:07 pm #66432
AGAPParticipantHey John,
Psychocandy by JAMC is quite the disc…loud..disruptive and oh so cool. Listen to it frequently Actually have tried using it as a behavioral management plan for a neighbor…person under the stairs kinda deal. Swear at me thru the floor and you will get a blast of Psychocandy…so far pretty effective.

JavroModeratorI was going through my old vinyl and stumbled across Delaware the other day. I hadn’t listnened to it for years. There are still some really good tracks on there, and when I was young I remember liking the girl on the cover. Looking at her know I feel like a sickoperv.
Trumans Water always crack me up. If I ever have to drive any of my dancemusiconlylistening friends anywhere, I’ll stick on the spasm smash album. Rations is the craziest song I have ever heard (with the exception of Beefheart’s Dachau Blues). Don’t know what happened to them, they must have rocked themselves out.
Take is easy salamiguy.June 27, 2001 at 10:44 am #66437
SGParticipantGlen from Truman`s water found God and now does Alt-Christian rock, under the name Soul Junk.If you want to check them out go to a site called mp3it they have some Soul junk material.Click on the browse section when you get to the home page and scroll down, all the bands are in alphabetical order of couse.
