Matty qui-9ParticipantGreat site Den buck,
chimey is my favorite, especially the grand reserve. I took a short lived foray into beer brewing. One day at the supply store I told the clerk I liked chimey and in a panic he told me: "Brother Timothy is leaving the abby and the new brother in charge of brewing doesn’t even drink, so go out and stock up all the chimey you can." I thought it was funny how upset he was. I personally can’t tell the difference between pre and post brother timothy chimey. its all good to me.
thanks for the link

Bucky RamoneParticipantMy personal favourite is the ‘Westmalle Tripel’, drinking one of them now, before I go to bed….
(Well actually my real favourite is ‘Westvleteren Abt’, but it’s nearly impossible to get that, you have to buy it at the abbey where they brew it, and they make that beer in very limited quantities….. )

Bucky RamoneParticipantHey Maxini, that’s a fun site as well, although I was a little disappointed by the rating for the Westmalle Tripel (somewhere around 1500….)
Check this site out as well, it’s fun!

maxiniParticipantHey den buck, ratebeer.com definitely looks like a cool site too. Cracked me up though when I came across this:

quote:
Axle3380 (17), montvale, New Jersey, USA on Budweiser Budvar (Czechvar):

it’s almost the same exact thing as regular Budweiser

Btw, gotta agree with you on the Westmalle Tripel. It sure deserves a higher rating than that IMHO.

maxiniParticipantHey I’ve tried Westvleteren Abt but only once Wonderful beer indeed. Incidentally, it happens to be the highest rated belgian beer on Ohhh… My Head. It’s a web site of this little crazy group of people in Stockholm who have taken it upon themselves to test and rate as many beers as possible. Right now they’re at 3322 beers from 110 different countries. The ratings should be taken with a grain of salt though, I’ve joined in on a few of the testings and, well, it doesn’t take too long before the judgement begins to rot. Probably it would be a sensible idea to spit it out after rolling it around in the mouth, but that would just spoil half the fun I guess.
