We lost James Marshall Hendrix, the worlds most influential guitarist.

I think this calls for a moment of silence

Excuse me Malcom, but aren´t you aware of the fact that good old Jimmy tried to transform Rock’n’Roll from a primary teenage attack into some boring old farts guitare doodling. I think we should all be so grateful that he died so early; otherwise he might have succeeded; and we all know how hard Eric Clapton tried to finish off what Hendrix had started. Most influencial guitarplayer, my arse. Certainly not for the Ramones. Have a good stomp on his grave and give a Gabba Gabba Hey to the kids.

Usually, I disagree respectfully w/dimpelfmoser, but if ever I felt the need for a :raisetheroof: smilie, this would be it.

Wait 30 years… we’ll call Cobain the most influential lyricist of all time…

Joey Ramone used a Hendrix lyric to describe his outlook on life-"freak flag fly high".
Since I like Hendrix and the Ramones I see your agrument of Hendrix being the start of guitar wanking, the Ramones brought back rock and roll`s original concept but I don`t think they would diss Hendrix.
