Just wanted to remind people out there to check this out today if possible. I thought it would only be live audio from the show, but Jasper pointed out its live video as well…too cool.

Short but sweet…

Everybody Lets Me Down
Repulsion
Wagon
Get Me
Not You Again

Sounded great…

J said he wrote Tell The Truth about the terrorists involved with Sept/11/01. Said he didn’t believe that they did it for god, tell the truth…no god that he knew would justify that kind of killing. Cool.

Don’t know about the video stream, but the audiostreams of the club.lek shows are archived and available through the VPRO 3voor12 concert page

It was a great short set from J. with a very very funny interview (shooting golfballs at a skydiving J…… ).

I listened to it (and taped it) on old-fashioned stereo radio and had a very anxious look at my speakers when that first ‘electric’ solo of ‘Repulsion’ kicked in , now listening back to it (while enjoying a nice glass of swiss red wine) , and it sounds excellent!

I just uploaded the gig to blahmusic.myftp.org if that’s okay with everyone? It’s in the "Upload" folder. Name of the new folder is "Live on dutch radio sept 11 2002". It’s one big mp3 file. Very good sound quality, imho. 35 MB. Total lenght: 21:56 (interview + 5 songs).

I was there (with Samwise, and Wim — who we met at the show), and it was indeed short but very, very sweet. Great couple of songs. Even better: we talked to a manager-type-person after the show, who told us J would be back in November for a tour. If I’m not mistaken, he will play the Vera in Groningen (a show I’ll be able to go to by foot ), the Crossing Border festival, and a show in Rotterdam. I assume there will also be other European dates, but I can’t say where or when.

I’m uploading the show also to blahmusic.myftp.org, but all the songs are seperate, so you don’t have to download it as one big file. Good quality, it recorded it live from the radio to a digital recorder.
Have fun with it!
