Hey,

Just felt the need to add a bit more of my own nonsense to this topic.

I feel the same way you guys do about the state of sameness seen in the alt scene these days…sad really When I look at the discs I bought on a recent road trip seems I am picking up more of the old stuff versus more recent releases…Gang War/Crime of The Century, Heartbreakers/Vive La Revolution, Damned/BBC Sessions…but doesn’t mean I will diss those who like the new stuff…too each his own. What I find more productive is trying to reach them with some cool music..at least what I find cool..and see if they can get past that mainstream addiction. Obviously this doesn’t always work but hey I am always optimistic…not always a good trait So if you can leave some tips/links for us to check out…would be cool

In regards to the conforming/fav lists of people, I agree it is obvious to a degree where we all come from music wise since we are J fans. But there are some huge differences as well, and I have been enlightened and amazed by the diversity among the Mascis fans on this site. I think a couple of topics you started…the feminine side as an example..had people listing all kinds of groups they listened to…a lot more than listed in the fav profile deal. My profile had the predictable Flaming Lips, Grant Hart/Bob Mould etc etc, could have listed at least another 20…but hey I think you know that.

Always cool responding to your challenging posts D…even though it usually starts with a huge gasp on my part when reading the initial post…

ps I still love the polls…just my opinion though
