I’ve been playing these a lot the last weeks:
The Setters (Alejandro Escovedo, Walter Salas-Humara and Michael Hall), the song "Let’s take some drugs and drive around" is such a beauty….
The La’s (mid-price cd re-issue with bonus tracks). "There she goes" is one of my favourite all-time pop-songs, the rest isn’t too bad either!
The Orange Humble Band – Humblin’ (across America), talking about near-perfect pop-songs: Ken Stringfellow (Posies), Mitch Easter (Let’s Active and producer of REM in their earlier days), Jody Stephens (Big Star) try their best to make a pure-pop-for-now-people-album!
