No, the whole reason Dinosaur Jr exists is because J can play the f**king guitar like nobody else and because of his creativity. The gear is nowhere near as important as that, if at all. You better know how to play, both technically and creatively, otherwise any gear at all is a waste of your money. I could take a hundred wanna-be’s with all the vintage gear in J’s basement and then give J a kid’s beginner guitar and practice amp and he would still be able to make great music, guaranteed. Also I’ll take beer over wine any day of the week.
