Thanks again for all the Murph info. I’ll have to check out some of those bands.

I just found a Mike Watt diary entry from ’98 about "Wank Factor 7 and Rising". J was involved and it was definitely fronted by some guy named Kurt. He has some good descriptions of the band.

Take a look here:
Mike Watt’s hootpage

Also, I noticed Kurt Fedora is on Drawerings on the Martin & Me album and that is definitely a live acoustic appearance from around 1995 when J did some solo acoustic shows. I saw him do one of those at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor and it was really good. It was just J though. It was cool to see J at a really small venue just playing acoustically. The set was similar to what appears on Martin & Me. Some of the songs on there might be from that show but it doesn’t say. Does anyone have the info about what performances are on there?

Anyway, I guess that kills all the Kurt Fedora/Cobain theories, or at least someone else decided to pretend to be Kurt Fedora after Cobain died.

Maybe I can revive some "Paul is dead" rumors instead.
