I saw J on the 16th in Northampton. Incredible. He opened with Thumb and played everything that you would have expected him to for around 50 minutes. Flying Cloud was my favorite. As usual, he didn’t say too much. A couple of thank you’s and that was about it. The last song was Repulsion.

This was my first show and if you have never seen him before, I can tell you that his playing is 1,000 times better live that you would expect. J’s got me wanting to see him with the Fog! He is awesome. Really, he is.

Sonic Youth was Sonic Youth. Exactly what you always get. A good show and a lot of fun. Thurston makes me laugh the way he tunes his guitar for 2 minutes at the beginning of each song….like it makes a difference. I mean that in the kindest way.
