I actually didn’t get to know about Dinosaur Jr by their music itself.
It was late 92, I believe. I was pretty much into The Cure that time, when I read an Robert Smith article hanging at the wall in a friend’s room. In that interview Rob said that he was pretty much into Dinosaur Jr. I didn’t even know the band then and I told myself ‘You have to check this out’. A couple of weeks later I saw the first Dino video on mtv’s 120 minutes – it was ‘Start Choppin’. Soon after that I bought the single, and the bonus tracks on it (‘Turnip Farm’, ‘Forget It’) helped me to completely fall in love with J’s music. The 1st album I got was ‘Green Mind’.
