Yeah, let me explain. Early Stereolab where a bit more like mbv, but the main thing is, that years ago (two years after Loveless) I came across the first album of Rocketship in the recordshop of my choice. No one had heard of rocketship (and I don´t think they´ve ever made it big time) and in order to encourage you to buy it the dealer had writen a little tag and attached it to the record and it said: "Very good, like Boo Radleys and Stereolab", when in fact it was exactly like my bloody valentine (ecstacy period) and I thought it was interesting that my bloody valentine were obviously completely forgotten, while the bands that were influenced by them cited as referencepoints.
I like your list eggwater, after all, there would be no Fall without Beefheart.
